Our Choir rehearses every Wednesday evening from 7.30 - 9.30pm at Holy Trinity Church, Thurgoland
(we have a summer break during August).
The choir invites enthusiastic singers of all ages with no special musical expertise required.
The choir is a community and not a religious venture. It expects to embrace a wide range of secular,
popular and spiritual music.
Its primary aim is to bring members of the local community together to enjoy singing in a social and
friendly environment - scroll down to see some of our recent programmes.
If you love singing please come along. Your first two rehearsals are free of charge.

The Choir's Background and Aims
Thurgoland Community Choir was formed in August 2012 and is open to members of Thurgoland Parish
and surrounding District. It was facilitated as a community venture by the Holy Trinity Thurgoland's
Community Action Group ('the CAG') which has a remit from the parish church to engage
with the local community in new and different ways.
We try to do two concerts a year - one at Christmas with Thurgoland Primary School and one in the
summer often in collaboration with other choirs. In October 2024 the choir went to Sorrento
with Stannington Mixed choir, had a wonderful time and perfomed at three events.
